Who are we ?

Dépannage Saint-Agapit was a parish organization that existed for several decades. We incorporated in 1995 and since 1999 we have a company number and we hold a receipt number for income tax purposes.

Our organization serves the City of Deux-Montagnes. Its mission is to help families and individuals in need. This support is mainly Christmas baskets form and we allocate food vouchers throughout the year.

Our intervention criteria

We are committed to meet all the demands placed upon us and that meet the following criteria:

  • Remain within the City of Deux-Montagnes.
  • Who really need help.
  • Does not receive Christmas basket of other organization.

Proof of residency and income are request from beneficiaries that address their demand for help.
We also ensure that no other organization provides them with food assistance.
These are the only criteria on which we rely to grant or deny a basket.

Our support for individuals and needy families

Many people and groups experiencing significant financial difficulties and rely on the generosity of all to spend the holidays with joy and dignity.
Throughout the year we are present and we help individuals and families when they address their requests.

Many children need our support and our help to live a Christmas as all children should live in peace, love and joy. By providing food assistance throughout the year, we help them to be more responsive and productive at school.

Our fundraising activities

Our funds come from different sources:

  • Annual Food Drive:
    • Citizens of Two Mountains
    • companies
    • social groups
    • Donors outside the territory
  • Roadblock from firefighters
  • City of Deux-Montagnes
  • Various foundations
  • Primary and secondary schools of the city
  • Oka High school

Every year in early autumn we send a personal request to each person and each of the above mentioned organizations to invite them to contribute to our fundraising campaign. We also extend an invitation by mail to the entire population of Deux-Montagnes to contribute to this important activity.

Furthermore, we ask the population and associations such as the Scouting Movement, the mass-server club, the Air Cadets, the student following the international program, to give us a few hours of their valuable time on the last Sunday of November to solicit each house of the city to collect the money and non-perishable food.

We also receive throughout the year donations and grants from individuals and organizations.

All persons and all organizations who donate receive upon request a receipt for income tax purposes.
